TaleBuilder was born from bedtime stories, kitchen table creativity, and a shared dream to spark the love of reading in every child.
It started with a backpack full of books. Every day, our 6-year-old came home from school with leveled readers—carefully grouped to match his reading ability. He loved them. But we noticed something: the books couldn't keep up with his curiosity, and he was starting to outgrow the level he'd been placed in.
Teachers do incredible work, but there's only a limited set of books available at each reading level. Our son wanted to read about space and planets. How machines work. Legos. The human body. Topics that sparked his imagination.
Meanwhile, his 3-year-old sibling was just starting to discover stories and wanted to see their favorite toys come to life on the page.
We realized the gap wasn't about school—it was about what's possible. No system can offer truly individualized content for every child's interests, at exactly their reading level, updated as they grow.
So we built TaleBuilder together as a family. Our kids helped dream up features, test stories, and inspired Tailyn, our friendly AI co-author who helps bring imagination to the page.
