Stories about curiosity

Each of these stories starts with a question a child could not let go of: why does the moon follow the car, what lives under the rock, how does bread rise. The character investigates, and the story follows the investigation to an answer a young reader can hold on to. The collection suits kindergarten through grade 3 readers, and it overlaps with science topics, so a story here can be the hook before a lesson on weather, plants or animals, or the answer to a question asked at dinner.
