Stories about responsibility

These stories are about a child being trusted with something and coming through: feeding the fish, walking the dog, watering the garden while a neighbor is away, remembering the library book. Some include the moment the child forgets, and what they do about it, which is usually the most useful page. They suit kindergarten through grade 2 readers. They fit the week before a child takes on a first chore or a first pet, and at school they suit classroom jobs and lessons on keeping promises. Every storybook is free to read online, and remixing one is a good way to give your child a story about the exact responsibility they are about to take on.
