A windy day, a missing book, and a race to the library!

Nia read her favorite book. Mr. Whiskers watched the pages turn. The sun shone in Nia's room.

Nia went to play outside. She left the book on the porch. Mr. Whiskers batted at the cover.

A big gust of wind blew. The book tumbled into the yard. Nia looked at the town clock.

"Oh no!" Nia said. The library closes soon. She ran to grab the book.

The book rolled past the baker's shop. It bounced by the flower stand. Nia sped up her steps.

A big bird swooped down. It tried to pick up the book! Mr. Whiskers jumped at it.
