Stories about problem solving

A child in each story runs into a problem and works it out: a lost pet, a broken toy, two friends who both want the swing, a tower that will not stand. The stories show the character trying one idea, seeing what happens, and adjusting, which is the pattern teachers want children to internalize. They suit kindergarten through grade 3, with the simpler stories using a clear problem-and-solution structure that early readers can predict.
