RUBY: Here are my bowls. MAX: What are you doing? RUBY: I am a scientist!

RUBY: This is my first experiment. MAX: What will you make? RUBY: A fizzy drink!

RUBY: Plop! Splash! MAX: Oh, no! More like plop, fizzle. RUBY: It did not fizz.

RUBY: Hmm. Not fizzy enough. MAX: Maybe try less water? RUBY: I will try again!

RUBY: More powder. Then water. MAX: Still no big bubbles. RUBY: It just got warm.

RUBY: This is hard! MAX: My toast is good. RUBY: Wait! Toast is warm.

RUBY: I need heat! MAX: What will you heat? RUBY: The fizzy drink!

RUBY: Beep! Beep! Beep! MAX: Wow! Look, Ruby! RUBY: It is fizzy now!

MAX: How did you do that? RUBY: Science! Heat makes it fizz! MAX: That is so cool.

RUBY: Do you want to try? MAX: Let’s make more science! RUBY: My kitchen lab is open!

powder: Powder is something that is made of very tiny bits, like flour or sugar.; More powder. Then water.
bubbles: Bubbles are little round pockets of air or gas in liquid.; Still no big bubbles.
heat: Heat is what makes things warm or hot.; I need heat!
kitchen: A kitchen is a room where food is cooked and prepared.; My kitchen lab is open!
lab: A lab is a place where scientists do experiments.; My kitchen lab is open!
