Story Arc

Pip watched the big birds fly. They soared high in the sky. Pip wanted to fly too.

Pip flapped her little wings. She jumped up and down. She stayed right on the ice.

Pip felt her feet get cold. “I am not a flying bird,” she thought. A soft voice spoke nearby.

“Why are you so sad?” asked Orla. Pip pointed to the sky. “I wish I could fly!” she said.

“Come with me,” Orla said. They walked on the icy land. Pip tried to jump from a hill.

She slid on her tummy fast. Pip zipped over the snow. Orla watched her go.

Pip could go very fast! But she still could not fly. They walked towards high peaks.

Pip saw a tricky ice cave. She wiggled inside with glee. She was quick and so small.

Pip zoomed through the tunnels. Orla waited outside. Pip found her own special skill.

Pip was a wonderful wiggler. She was a speedy slider. Pip was a special penguin.
